i think the carbon fiber hood looks great as long as it's a quality piece. weight savings would perhaps be secondary, but i don't think it's ricey one bit.

I have to say, that while I refute the "ricey" description given to a CF hood, I really don't think it suits the S2K at all. If you like the look of a black hood, you could always paint it in trem clad Even if I had an all out race car, for me, a weight savings of "only" 6lbs as quoted by another poster, would relegate the purchase of a CF hood to the bottom of my priority list.
Seriously though, I think I will stick to my stock hood on my Spa Yellow.

Does anyone know whether any of the CF hoods have vents that improve the flow of air to the air intake? i.e. give a cold air supply rather than the standard superheated, past the radiator flow?

unfortunantly there are a bunch of Civic running around with these on. what the owners dont realize is that hte general public thinks they simply got in a wreck and have an unpainted car, which looks and makes them think its trash.

several hoods have vents to improve the heat exchange and to vent the engine compartment....J's, Mugen and I think spoon has one too. There are others as well.
