Hood pins will always be "required" from the vendor who sells them as a disclaimer and precautionary statement. In fact there are very few CF hoods that require the use of pins.

The CF hoods all use the stock latch and are just as strong as the stock hood.

If you simply prefer the look of the pins..then they are all pretty much the same with the exception of how the plate attaches to the hood itself.

Hood pins are more for dry carbon applications that are extremely light and even rattle at high speeds...

Hood pins for street applications are a PITA... I've used them....and they look nice....but you will regret using them when you realize you don't want ANYONE opening your hood but yourself.

If you need hood pins, don't buy the hood;it's aPOS.

Out of curiousity... what is the weight of the stock hood? Is there a significant weight savings to be had with a carbon fibre hood?
