to my knowledge, if you bounce off the rev limiter (not due to bad shifting) you have nothing to worry about. Assumming you only do it afew times on accident and do not make a hobby out of it.

I'm the one who asked the question initially. Thanks for the comments. It makes sense, the momentum of the car, if pulled into a lower gear, will force the engine to rev faster. The rev-limiter merely cuts the fuel. Jeeze, I've done this! I wasn't used to the short-throw shifter.
