You have an AP2, so basically the consensus is if you overrev and nothing breaks right away, you will be fine. Not the case for an Ap1.

For those refering to raising the rev limit (sorta off topic) the F series isnt going to make much power above the factory redline, without doing cams and other headwork there is no need to raise the stock rev limit.

Any engine can be over-revved, as people have said. Holding the accelerator to the floor will not allow an over-rev, but if you misshift....kaboom.

The engine computer WILL record the engine speed when it blows, and the dealer will know exactly what RPM it was at. There were some funny (and sad) threads on the RSX forums a while back where someone got the printout showing an 11400rpm over-rev on a K20. Oops.

Just don't shift like a retard trying to impress people and you'll be fine. Honda is not in the business of making motors that grenade easily.

I don't know if I'd go that far but it does appear to be somewhat more resitant to cracking the retainers.

If I over-revved, I'd have it at the dealership ASAP.

So in the event that an over-rev were to happen, is there anyway to hide it from honda? (how do you clear code, etc)

With the hondata, since it is a reflash and not an aftermarket ecu how would they be able to tell that it is modified?

As soon as someone sees an AP2 drop a valve 5k after an over rev, I will amend my position. If an AP2 retainer is going to crack and threaten to drop a valve, it's going to happen right away.. That's all I have to go by because that's all I've seen.
