I am going to be replacing my rotors and pads rather soon. Just a bit of info I street drive the car and as of right now don't plan on track and Auto-x. I have no problem going OEM however...the rusting of the rotor is rather annoying so I have been looking at other options. Has anyone tried these?

I am mostly looking at those because they cost about the same as OEM, but have been painted already. As far as pads go I believe OEM would be fine unless anyone has some other options. Just looking for some insight before I go pick up anything. Thanks for any info.

 

keep your rotors, install only new pads
if its not busted why fix it?

 

Yea well thats the thing I have yet to see if I can resurface them but they pulse under braking. Its pretty annoying and I figured they are pretty inexpensive so why not just go new.

 

OEM pads are fine for street use. If you want to replace the rotors and go for looks, slotted is the way to go IMO. Cross-drilled from what I hear are prone to cracking (but not sure if they would be fine for street driving).

 

suggest a powerslot rotor since its warrantied for 3yr/36k miles + it has the anti-rust coating on it.

 

Stick with the stock rotors if you don't plan on racing. The stock setup is amazing and better than most aftermarket. Most of the big brake kits and brembo stuff are made for racing and don't work well until reaching certain temperatures which you will not achive in daily driving.

Live with the rust, the best brake rotors rust (unless you dive a ferrari or something exotic with ceramic or carbon fiber rotors). Even Porsche brakes rust, it's a good sign!!!

 

I have a 2002, I buy front pads for a 2004 S2000, the compound is a tad more aggresive.

I've been running Powerslot rotors the past few months and they've been great. P-Tuning up in Manassas carries them
