You can remove the foglamp from the bumper and then paint the plastic part.

What does a rear red fog light do exactly? Does it come on with the lights? only when backing up? Is it like a fourth brake light? Is the fog that much thicker in other countries that the U.S. doesn't require it? Let's hear some reviews on this rear red fog light from some owners.

that is kinda cool, but for a "fog lamp" why red? shouldn't it be like white or yellow for beeter visibility?

Not sure why they choose that color (universal signal for stop comes to mind, as well as all the other rear lights.)

However, it is a requirement in a lot, if not all, of the european countries. The US does not have a requirement. The '04 cars have one of the taillights function as a fog light. USDM Mini Coopers have the fog light.

I thought about painting my diffuser body color, but then I realized that anyone that knows the car is going to assume that you have been rear-ended and just didn't know that that part was supposed to be matte black. It could hurt you at resale.

I like the look, and if resale isn't a concern then I say:

Its for other drivers to see you.

Ever watched open wheel racing in the rain? They have something similar to that on the rear.
