Yep, my wife's NFR has a bumper and rear quarter panel that don't match and we're sure it's because of the lack of the tinted clear coat.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that was it. According to the shop it was the same paint. They just repaired the damaged area and threw a new clear over it all.
I'm glad I was able to find the picture that says its tinted clear. Hopefully they can get it close.

only what to make it look perfect is to blend, plastic vs metal is hard as it is. Let alone OLD paint.

I don't think blending is going to help when it's two different colors they're trying to blend.

Hopefully they can get it close to the paint on the car without having to blend.

I can see the paint is off in the photo and probably it is noticeable if I see it personally. I am by no means a body shop expert, if the paint they apply is correct according to the color code and it matches perfectly to the paint of a brand new NFR, is there really a way to adjust the color to match with a 15 year old car?

correct, they went off the paint code. The only thing they didn't do correctly was the tint in the clear. I think they could make it look aged a little bit. I saw them do it on TV once lol

Paint match there is horrible -- my spa yellow bumper is almost as bad as that -- they blended one side to the quarter and not the other and it's been a personal eye sore for years.

I prefer not blending (especially if you need to repaint that bumper AGAIN down the road -- then you have to blend the blend? You'll have three colors at that point!).

Real issue is finding a paint guy that is willing to work with you, shoot a lot of tests, and make an honest effort. They should never have called you at this stage, prior to redoing it!

I've seen posts of paint correction and wet sanding our NFR clear coats revealing a red-tinted clear, so you're right:
