Default Painted headlights

Wuts up everbody. I did a search for this topic but every thing was light 3 years old and the links and pics didn't work. I want to paint the housing of my headlights suzuka blue. Is there a kit or do I take it to a body shop? I heard it needs to be high heat resistant paint. Do they make that kind of paint in the same color? Thx in advance

what do you mean by painting the headlight housing???

do you mean the grey plastic that surrounds the bulbs, or the actual clear plastic part that covers it all?

I'm pretty sure he means the inside that surrounds the bulb...

You need to bake them in an oven to melt the seals, then split the housings.

Remove and spray the inserts with high temp paint and clear.

If you're going to change the diffusers, do it while you have the casings open.

Then do the tail lights.

did it with my old rsx-s. it sucked and took forever. make sure you let it dry overnight and seal completely, otherwise you get fumes and/or condensation inside the lense

Let's be clear. Getting the headlights open is the tricky part. There are detailed instructions on how to replace the diffusers at http://www.ricks2k.com

Once you have the headlight open, painting the housing is pretty easy. (Well, I already had the car in the body shop so I took apart the light and gave THEM the housing to paint, but for a PAINTER, it's pretty easy. )
