painting interior panels
I am getting ready to paint my rollbar covers and was wondering if anyone has any advice for me. I seem to remember the prep neccessary in another post, but I can't find it in the search.
These covers are used, so I am sure that they had Armor All or some other protectant used on them previously. I have read that Simple Green is the most effective soap to use, and then to follow it with a thorough acetone wipe down before I begin sanding to keep from forcing any remaining silicone farther into the plastic. Is there a specific primer to use? I have an HVLP gun and was planning on just using a catalyzed primer.
Thank you for any help.

I am going to paint the rollbar covers in Mirrachrome, a paint that ends up looking like polished aluminum. I think it will be a unique accent since my car is black on black.
Here is a link to the website of the paint manufacturer.

I've always liked the look of metal rollhoops and this is a way to do it without having ones actually fabricated.

Are you going to sand the texture out of the hoops?
I was going to do this to my entire interior back when I was into lowered trucks, had everything ready to go and then some beeyatch totaled my truck for me.
Here is the only pic I could find of some of my buddy's interior. We spent many hours sanding and prep'ing for primer/paint. Make sure you do get all of possible armor all or other cleaning/conditioning agents on it. Simple green should work just fine. I forgot the kind of primer or additive he used to the paint...it made it much more pliable and could flex more than other automotive paints.
