Default Chip Touch/Repair

Okay Guys!! I have a few chips on my car that I fixed, but I am not happy with two of the five. I wanted to know if there is there any OTC (over the counter) automotive chemical that I can use to remove the touch paint so that I can re-finish the paint process.

All I see at the auto parts is paint stripper, which seem to be too aggresive for what I am looking for. What about nail polish remover/acetone? I just have a paint blob that needs to be removed and redone so that I can wet sand blend correctly.

Plastic Kote used to make a chemical/product called Paint Leveler and would remove the touch paint/touch clear without harming the original paint. I cant find anymore.

Any ideas to help a frustrated auto detailer!!

Thanks

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get some the Denatured alcohol. If the paint is fresh, you can remove the new touch up paint without harming the cured paint. Use it sparingly and quickly. Don't use acetone!! It will remove the finish.

What if I have paint blotches that are faded? How do I cure that?

sand with 2000 grit and polish with a rubbing compound to smooth out any blotchiness.
