Depends on how long I'm away and where I'm parking.

You might want to have your top looked at. Should take no more than 10.

I only park with the top down at a meet or club picnic/event, when I can SEE the car (like from Arby's windows), or at my parent's house on a dead end street.

I left my car in the driveway for 5 minutes and came back to crap on the back of my seat. Always keep papertowels and detailer in the trunk.

One other major problem is tree sap

I will leave my top down if I'm just running into a store to pick something up and will be quick.

Otherwise, not usually, no. Just too many haters, and haters spit and throw things.

If I'm in a handicap spot and put my handicap parking permit up, top goes up...those are just too tempting to steal, plus the "hater factor" goes way, way up.

I removed my soft top so when I decide to take the HT off on nice days I only park in areas that I can still view the car. Where I live top down weather is basically Dec-May and every now and then during those months I get antsy for a top down drive.

Only takes 30 seconds to put it up. Worth it to protect the interior from sun and birds.
You must have a slow top. Mine takes all of 7 seconds to put up.

I only leave my top down if it's not blaring hot and I'm within sight of the car (ie: at a restaurant, at the park, etc.)
This...and if I know I am will be gone for more than 5 minutes.

i once came back to find a diaper with do do on it because i left my top down.

i also have this fear of something pulling down the handbrake and putting the gear on neutral. is it just me?
every time i have my top down, my windows are rolled up so that cant happen
I seriously doubt the windows being up would prevent that from happening.

Bottom line - unless it's a super quick trip or you can see the car, you should always put the top up.

To me it depends on weather and location..

Top down: work and home
Top up: everywhere else.

There's too many people out there that will do stupid things.

This! Also if it's a quick trip I'll put the top up and not latch to save wear and tear.
