Passed Smog with an '06 engine in my AP1
I'm just writing this up for information for people that are in a similar situation as I was in. I was stupid and didn't do any research before buying a low mileage clean but dirt cheap '06 engine to replace my blown engine in my AP1. The problem was that the '06+ engines do not have the holes drilled in the cylinder head for the EGR port to use the air injection pump, so I was stressing over the smog for quite some time. When it was time for me to smog, all I did was install a Izze engineering air pump simulator and connected every component associated with the air pump onto the engine to make it appear like it's actually working. I also unplugged the air pump relay, because the air pump is loud as hell when it's trying to blow air into a closed tube. I took it in to smog and it passed.
Has anyone passed smog with the air pump simulator installed and air pump and it's components taken out?
