Passenger airbage disable switch?
Hi Guys-
First post here. I've got an '04 Mazda Speed Miata that going to sell soon and buy my first S2000. I drove an '03 last summer up HWY 1 in California for a week. LOVED the car. The Miata just doesn't really fit me I guess. Fun car, but I like the Honda more. My big question is regarding the front airbag. My 7 year old son loves rides in the Miata. I just disable the airbag. I know the Honda does not come with such a handy feature, but I'm hoping there's a work-a-round. Does anyone here drive with a smaller child? What's your solution? I really need to find a solution or I might be stuck with the Mazda.
Thanks a ton!

In most jurisdictions, disabling an airbag is a legislated procedure. At least here, to do this, one must make application for such a thing. Then Honda puts in a kit that allows the passenger side airbag to be disabled using a switch. I'm not sure but it may even encorporate a key. Of course, the proper labelling for the switch is included in the kit.
Of course, there is a way to disable it but to tell you would be breaking the law.
