Default passenger side airbag

i've seen the thread about adding some sort of shut off switch for the passenger air bag, which you have to get a letter and have it installed by honda dealer, but i was wondering if there was an easier way to disable the air bag, i.e. pull the fuse?
Any thoughts? would that cause the computer to go crazy or something..
I would only want to do it for local rides (10-15 minute rides)

yeah, i know.. but my wife won't let the kids ride because of it... there are some that have said that the kids are too small for the air bag to even reach them.. i don't totally buy that and don't want to take the chance.. so i am just looking of an alternative

The main problem for kids and airbags is a carseat. If they're not in a car seat, then as long as the seat belt fits them (I.E. they shouldn't be in a car seat), you should be fine.

My daughter is just getting into the booster seat (6 yrs old) and my son is only 3... so they both need to be in a car seat of some sort
