Now that you have liberated yourself from that P-car thing, why not completely liberate yourself?
Go used or go new whatever, but for goodness sake, get a yellow one!

My prior 2004 was Rio Yellow and I loved it. However, the GPW is REAL nice.
Had a 944 a while back. Cheap Porsche as a initial purchase (you can find low mileage excellent condition for well under $10k), but as I found out all Porsche cost alot to maintain and keep. Sold the car for a '97 Prelude SH and was miserable for the 6 months I owned it. Wife suggested I get a new car sooner than later and 1 month later got myself an '01 S2000. The smiles are back and the wife is glad even though she can't understand why I "waste gas" to go on local s2ki drives.
Not every car is for everybody. Porsche only sold 1/4th of a percent of all the cars sold in the US last year and it was their best year ever! It is one of the ultimate niche vehicles (ultimate because of all the years it has been going as a niche vehicle). I'm glad to hear you've found the car that works best for you today
I can't imagine giving up a 996 for a S2k. I sold my Carrera 6 mos ago and have been miserable ever since... thought a S2k would cure me... but does not even compare. The S2ki is fun, but then so is a miata... To each his own I guess.

That is funny. Goes to show you...
