Default Peeling Header(Red) Paint

Has anyone experienced paint flaking on header around the dip stick?
If so, can I re-paint and where would I accuire Red Paint

that's the valve cover. the header is the exhaust pipe that exists the head itself.

I think Rick is looking into a powder coat of the valve cover. But are you that picky about a chip in the paint under the hood like that? I've seen a few S's like that, but I wouldn't bother - but that's just me.

First of all, the flaking should not occur unless it was physical damage that was inflicted. You can get red touch up paint but it will not be a permanent fix. It will happen again if the dip stick tip was the cause.

Powder coating would give you a more durable finish but I'm not sure you'll get the same crinkle paint look.
