It was a joke because the OP was talking about a leather dash (that doesn't exist).

A small dog would prob. be fine as long as you cover seats with a towel and make them ride on the floor. I have 2 huskies, 62 lb and 83 lb and they don't get NEAR my car.

I've always wanted to take out my passenger seat and take my german shepherd for a ride in the "S"

I have a husky and she has been in my S many times -- always with a seat cover. She's only 50 lbs though.

Drool on the outside of the passenger door is really the biggest problem in my experience.

Who puts their dog on the dashboard?
Every time I take my dogs anywhere they find it necessary to stand with their front paws on my dash.... no bueno.

Hmm sounds like dogs and S don't mix. Well i thought the dash was a type of leather. I know its soft and if a dog put its claws on it, it would rip. What is the dash made out of?? I'm trying to get a small dog about the size of ur chihuahua. I'm just affarid it will scratch something in the interior of the car. I almost traded the CR for a truck last week. Due to me needing more room and wanting a dog. But they would not give me what i wanted for it. So i will just save up and buy one in a couple of years

My little guy loves to go for rides! I sometimes put a towel on the pass seat, but more often than not he rides laying in my lap.
