Our family's Lab once chewed through the leg of a chair when he was a puppy, so I would not feel comfortable letting him anywhere near my car.

i have a small boston terrier/pug mix that rides in the s once a week or so and its not an issue. i just keep a towel over the seat so his nails dont somehow puncture/scratch the seats.

My Dachshund goes to the vet/store in my S and I never use a towel and my seats are still nice and scratch free. Not so much of a window dog though; he'll stand up to look out the window, but he doesn't like the hang his head out of it.

Couple things...how the heck would a Chihuahua sized dog get his paws on the dash.

To the guy who lets his pouch ride in his lap. Please don't. I don't want to be the one you crash into when you can't control the car in an emergency maneuver. Having a dog in your lap when driving is idiotic.

Be careful with the top down and taking corners fast, you may lose your dog. I almost did once. Buy a doggy seatbelt.

This topic hits close to home. One morning I woke up to find my Chinchilla (named Chinzilla) and my car missing. Later that week I received this customized post card. I miss both.

Ive never put either one of my two dogs in my s simply because I know when my beagle rides in my truck, he gets motion sickness and always seems to puke. So the s is reserved for me and not the dogs lol.

my dog loves ridin around on random errand trips, so i thought i would give him a shot at the S. he hated it! whined and tried to lie down in the footwell (he is like 70 lbs, so it didn't work)

he loves the back of the jeep, so there he stays. he had his one chance of riding in the S and it didnt work out, so now i am guilt free leaving him behind on those trips.
