I have a 16 pound Westie and he has been in the S 1 time without protection! Ever since that ride I put a towel over the passenger seat and center consol. His claws ripped up the perforations in the leather on the center consol and seat cushion the first time I had him in the car, but nothing too bad. If you look you can see little scratches and rips around the perforations. He also put a nice little scratch on the top of the door from standing up and looking out. I had a GTi before and he road all the time but I guess the leather was not as soft as the S2K.

Also, because the center console is almost level with the seat he likes to lay on the back half of the arm rest. Its not uncommon for him to put the hazards on.
Ha, sounds like my Westie down to the T. He loves standing on the windowsill and looking out at red lights/stop signs...the first few times he did that he went flying back into the seat he learned his lesson...poor little guy.

You have a leather dash on your CR?

Is that the special Florida baller option?
Douche.

I got this for my 2 dogs. Works great if your dog is under 25 lbs. My dogs use to hate going for a ride in my S, now, they can bear it without fear of getting slammed against the dashboard, backseat, door, etc...and I have no fear of scratching the leather any more

The times I've had my dog in the S2000, he seemed to fret more because of the rough ride and noise compared to other cars. Having the top down/windows up seemed to work fine as long as I had someone to hold him (kept his harness on him so it was easy for the passenger to keep a good grip on him). And you have to keep the spirited driving in check.

Well i thought the dash was a type of leather. I know its soft and if a dog put its claws on it, it would rip. What is the dash made out of??
No idea what it is specifically but it's definitely not leather.

I had to take our dog to the vet in the S once. She seemed to enjoy the wind. Top down, windows up, a doggie seat belt, and towels = no problem!

I have a 30lb husky that rides in the passenger seat frequently.

The doggie seatbelt harness contraption works excellently. It gives her enough wiggle room to change from sitting to laying down and the occassional paws on the dash or door handle. But never enough slack to jump over onto the center console or even reach over the door with the windows down.

She LOVES the wind and you get all the other drivers speaking "baby" English at you during stoplights. Tons of fun. I do get a lot of wet nose marks on my window though. Not a problem.

I think you're going to enjoy it! Good luck!

This topic hits close to home. One morning I woke up to find my Chinchilla (named Chinzilla) and my car missing. Later that week I received this customized post card. I miss both.
