Pictures of the accident. FINALLY..
Looking at those pictures I need to add my thanks that you both made it out in one piece...
That's two S2000s I've seen with the "reinforced" windshield frame flatened, it looks like the rear hoops are made of sterner stuff though.
At 6'4 I'm really incentivised to keep all 4 wheels on the ground!

John, I'm glad you and your gal lived to tell about it AND had the courage to post it here.
I think this car does an amazing job of protecting its occupants, even more amazing given that it is a convertible.
Is your 2002 also yellow? I think the yellow is beautiful. Tell us more, as you get more experience, about the differences in handling between the MY2002 and previous cars.
I think you can let someone else drive it, as long as they drive it very conservatively. Maybe we should ask Honda to make a "guest driver" setting on the ECU that limits rpms to 5,000.

VERY sobering...I will add my salutations that you are OK to the growing list.
After seeing all these various crash threads today I am scarily reminded of my foolhardy wet drive thirty years ago in my '67 911S. Before wide tires, whale-tail spoilers and designed-in understeer I wound up backwards on the roof in a creek. No injuries other than a healthy life-long respect for trailing-throttle oversteer on a wet road. I think most of us are too used to the benign handling of our front-drivers and other less "on the edge" vehicles than the S2000.

That's such irresponsibility
The last thing i'm trying to do is be confident and "really get on it" when i'm driving someone else's $30,000+ sports car. Glad you both could walk away and learn from this crazy mishap.

The pictures really are frightening! I push my car hard but I'm not often on the limit for a number of reasons. One of those is that I am 6'5" and do stick up a bit from the windscreen and know that if it rolls, thats it. I'm a gonna. Sadly, there aren't that many sports cars that I truly fit - certainly not in my budget!
I saw an incredible video of an SLK crashing on an autobahn in Germany and rolling. The safety hoop worked a treat and saved the driver who walked away.
It's pleasing to know that the occupants walked away from the stook, not so pleasing to see the pics.

Can I ask a slightly twisted question???:
That car looks totaled. By the pics it looks like its in the auto-graveyard in the sky.
Soooo....what's up with the seats? I have a *great* second pasttime [my Sony PS2]...and I love driving games with my Logitech Forced Feedback steering wheel & pedals. But I'm lookin' for a nice cushy racing seat to make a great "arcade" racing setup in my den... Any chance I might... Awww, forget it...I feel like a real cannibal. Ughhh! I need to take a shower now; I feel soo dirty.
Glad you two walked away from that!
