I can wonder how well you take care of your cars with this type of comment. I would imaging that you would not be upset, if they ding your car or rip your bumper off.
I treat my cars like vehicles, not like people.

you're comparing a minor scuff on the bottom of the bumper and a minor chip in the w/s to someone defecating on your rug?

I can just imagine OP down on their knees saying "see this right here! look at that!"

come on, guys, it's just a car....
minor scuff + minor chip = what did they do to make that happen?

In the end, if I clean up the shit on the rug, all you have is a minor smell and minor stain...

I think you're getting bent up over nothing.

people treating this car like it is an uber-rare ferrari need a reality check.

Its about respect - nothing else.

Guess it didn't bother you that much when people fought on and dented the shit out of your rear quarter panel, eh? Its not like its some ubber-rare Ferrari or something..

OP - glad to see they're taking care of it. I had some asshole valet put a few miles on my car and scuff my lip when in their possession overnight (joyride) at the French Quarter Mariott a couple years ago - After weeks of hounding them and police involvement got a nice little check. ****ers.

actually, you're right.

I assessed the situation, discovered there was little I could do about it, pressed charges against the people (who were in police custody), and went on with my life. of course, I had two beers and a shot in my system at that point, so I was a little more accepting of life then most might be.

still waiting on the insurance company to recoup my $500 deductible from them, which will probably never happen.

body damage is repairable, and I'm an adult who doesn't use this car to bump up my ego.

I agree 100% with you. I think its F****** inconsiderate and disrespectful and unacceptable.
....to be this pissed off over a w/s chip and a scuff is a little immature.

what happens when someone accidentally (accident being the key word here) runs into him on the road one day, and rear-ends him? I can see OP rushing the offending car in a hurry, shouting a stream of expletives.

but to be fair to the varying degrees of opinion here, OP has a car with 3000 miles; mine is 7 years old with 65000.....

Wow. These horror stories are completely ridiculous. Next time I bring in my s2k to any shop, I'll make sure the guy I'm giving my keys to knows how many miles are on the car. That way, we'll both know how many miles should be on it when I pick it up!

Just got some tires on a couple days ago, looked at the odo and it hadn't even moved. First time using that shop and I will be going back after hearing too many stories about shady shops.

No offense, Valet is a little different to a dealership service. If your not (read can't) service your own car, then live with the fact someone else needs to move it, test it.

The OP is banging on about a tank of fuel, for 9 clicks added to the odo.

People need to lighten up, seriously its a car. Pay for insurance.
