pits in the windshield part 2
I posted earlier about how my 2001 with less than 6k miles has a badly pitted windshield. I think there is much controversy over whether the winshield is made of quality glass, or the car sits lower, or that the windshield itself is at the wrong angle, etc. My question is this, If my windshield is as pitted as it is, why isn't the paint on my front bumper and hood pitted as well? I would think and have experienced with my other cars, that when I have a pitted windshield from rocks, tailgating, etc, that inevitably there are rock chips in my bumper and hood. I don't know, but it is a little strange that my hood and bumper are brand new looking-not a rock chip anywhere.

bumpers do'nt chip as much... mainly because the paint on the bumper are made to flex. Hood I donno.
I've had my car for 6100 miles... no chip on the windshield. I generally don't follow cars very closely.

Inspect your headlights for pits also... If your car isn't black, you won't easily see your pit damage to your hood--but its there, and probably bad. Mine was black, and I could see all the pit damage easily...hence my 6k paintjob (thx to insurance). The paint is soooo much more durable now.
