Pitted Windshield
Hey guys,
My windshield is pitted pretty bad and it throws off a pretty bad glare when in direct sunlight. My question to anyone with insurance experience is: Would insurance cover the cost of a new one (minus deductible of course) if it impedes my ability to see well?
Thanks guys!!!

New winshields can be had for the S2000 between $225~$275. Not worth the insurance deductible, IMO...unless you have a super-low deductible or no deductible.
I need to get mine replaced...had a new one installed when I hit 35k miles and I currently have 142k miles...so you can imagine...when the sun hits it, I don't even need sunglasses...

It a $250 - $300 repair so inside most deductables, but I have not seen anyone get insurance coverage.
Mine and many others are very bad and would not pass inspections in countries that have visability standards (Scandanavia, Japan).

Airgate,
Where would I look for a replacement? That $225-$275 includes installation costs?
Thanks!

Call around in your area and ask for prices and tell them without insurance.

Bear in mind they'll be replacing the black weatherstrip around your windshield too.
And yes, those prices included installation.
Full glass coverage would make it equal zero, or at least it does in NYS
I have full glass coverage, zero deductable...
My S is on it's second window, and the CRX-Si gets another new one this summer.

You might want to look close at your insurance policy to see if you have glass coverage. Most policies have it included without you even asking for it.
It will usually be either a $100 deductible or $0. Mine is $0 and I go through a windshield per year at least between my cars.

A windshield per year? Christ, where are you driving?
Compnay usually will replace or repair when there is a break, rock chip, or simple crack that impreads vision and safety...pitted does not qualify unless it happened all at once, like in a hail storm...you are on your own, as am i think, mine is a mess as well....can't say how much it costs to replace, but the cost of glass is cheap to the company that provides it, so there is room to negociate the cost. your carrier may have a deal nationwide you can cash in on, call your agent to ask?
