Just wanted to post some pictures of where I place my gadgets inside the S2000, maybe it'll help some of you guys out too.
I bought a splitter power adapter from Radio Shack (as per some of your recommendations) to power the radar detector and the iPod. The radar detector wiring is led along the driver side in between the seat and the center console and the iPod wiring is the same but on the passenger side. The wiring pretty much stays out of the passenger's and my way and although it may not look good to some people, I don't really mind. Plus, I'm not a fan of hard-wiring.
The power adapter shown up close.
To me, that location for the iPod seems the most logical without having to do too much work to mount it anywhere (I wouldn't dream of placing the iPod on the center console since the fun of this car comes from the shifting action ) I just put a thin fabric under the iPod (shown with iTrip FM radio transmitter) so it doesn't scratch the underside casing (probably won't need it if I purchase an accessory hard case). Also, how the hinges of the radio door are situated, they prevent the iPod from falling onto the floor on turns - they effectively keep the iPod on the radio door. When you want to change songs during driving, you just pick it up, advance tracks or whatever, and set it back down and since it is powered by the adapter, you can keep the backlighting on the iPod on all the time during night driving. As for the cell phone, I just mounted the belt clip holder onto the passenger side net and clipped the phone on it so when the phone rings, I just lift the top tab with my right thumb and pull the phone out (inspired by Wendy's vid).
Another shot of the iPod and phone.
I guess the main motif here is that of simplicity and ease of use without having to hack up the car too much. Enjoy.
Cool,
But to many wires for me. Care to tell what to put in thoses pockets on the door panel? I can't even stick a pen or paper witout destroying my item or the door finishing. Oh well.
If you ever want to clean up the wire, you can hard wire the radar. See http://www.s2000.org/mods/radar/ for detail on how. I also tapped the always-on power lead for my head unit and hardwired my cell charger. This way it charges when the car is parked. It coils up in the mesh net when not in use.
Just a thought because space is a premium. Even wires take up too much.

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'll consider hard wiring the radar. As far as my phone is concerned, I always charge it overnight and it usually lasts well over a day on full charge, especially since I don't talk nearly as much as my sister does lol.
yea, i just don't get why honda placed the socket there.
i guess it's all that "spartan- f1 inspired- driver's car- pure race breed" car whatchamacallit,
but that socket is just so dang annoying.
let me charge my phone, oh, it's in the way,
here comes my v1, oh, it's in the way,
let me use some map light, oh, it's in the way,
let me hook up some mp3/ipod, oh, it's in the way,
what's up with that?!
here's a shot of my radar setup. V1 came with everything i needed to hardwire it so that was real nice. i chose to mount it where i did cuz it, at least for me, feels like a cleaner look, esp with our small interior. the hardest part from the whole deal with the mount my grandfather had to fabricate for me from scratch cuz i couldn't come up with anything creative to use to get it level and mounted.
