Since your car is an 01 if you went with a glass top you would have to modify your existing frame for the new 800.00 glass top so that it would fold right. You cant just install the glass on your existing top. If thats the way you want to go then fine. Like I said I have installed 2 rear plastic windows and one glass top and the process is not hard. Just time consuming. I never said it just zips out, implying this was the only step... I ment it zips out because if something like this ever did happen it can easily be replaced.

You might be total D*** for all I know.
At least I'm not sitting here bragging about what I have while at the same time telling someone to glue a window on there car.

I just went outside and removed the duct tape from my broken glass window and replaced it with Saran Wrap. I'd almost forgotten what it looked like when the glass was there.
Wish I'd thought of this six months ago.

Well actually it wasn't Saran Wrap. It was Wal-Marts Great Value imatation. Works just as good and saves money at the same time.

So uhhh, how about that link for the plastic window replacement. I'm in teh same boat, my plastic window cracked. My top is fine as I take pretty good care of it and will likely last another couple years , but the window was always teh thorn in my eye and now it cracked.
Btw, from topsonline.com the robbins top with glass and kit is 550 shipped.
I imagine the window replacement must be easier than the top because I could avoid all the R&Is of the interior pieces.

WOW!! Funny how this thread is going since I haven't been on from the last time I posted.

Anyways, thanks for the correction guys.....about being able to change the plastic window without having to change the whole top.
To the OP, it looks like you have 3 good choices to take;
1. Just change the plastic window...cheaper but a little more maintenance required.
2. Just change it to the glass window softtop with defroster, less maintenance, defroster, no folds and cracks, and did I mention defroster. But this is about 3-4 times the price compared to choice 1.
3. Get a hardtop and not worry about 80% of the issues with softtops, but you will be limited from being able to go convertible. Also, the cost is well over $2k if your buying new.

Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows where to buy a replacement plastic rear window for an 01 S2000. Mine got torn and I need to replace it. I would prefer gettting a glass window put in but I am not sure that is possible. Thanks!
this is why ap2>ap1, no plastic windows!

^What's a 02-03 S2k considered?

Honestly, I would just replace the the plastic window itself. That's the only issue the OP faces, that should be the only issue the OP fixes.
