I bought my my02 about 5 years ago with 118k on it no service records and appearing all stock. I had the valves adjusted, clutch, and brakes serviced soon after I bought it and never looked back. Recently I had misfiring problems at 181k. After replacing the coils and plugs I looked to another valve adjustment. And though I knew about the weak valve retainers on the ap1, i chose to bury my head in the sand since I've never mis shifted and it made it this far without a problem. Well now I figured it was time to swap them out. To my surprise upon removing the valve cover that I already have a full ferrea valvetrain! With Ti retainers and dual valve springs! A little adjustment and some injector cleaner fixed her right up. Now she is healthy as a horse and I can hit that 9k without any worries
