I don't know about you, but I can't load the service bulletins onto my browser on this site. My Stook "grunts" when I go into first and second gear before the clutch is completely engaged/disenganged. Is this the "1-2 grind"?

Does TSB 055 apply to 2001s as well as 2000s?

The TSB only applies to cars with the problem. Since it is caused by a tolerance problem that does not exist in all cars the repair will not be done unless it is clear to the dealership the car needs it.

It is much more common under hot conditions that apparently acerbate the stacking tolerance problem (all parts are in spec but the assembly as a whole is not), so the real test is in the summer.

If your gearbox has this problem it will grind going from first to second even though the clutch is fully depressed. It is not just an unusual noise, it is a grind as the gears are forced together without being fully synchronized.

Early indications are that in general the 2001 cars do not have the problem although summer will tell for sure.

The "Grind Fix" will only fix 1-2 grinds. The grind sounds exactly like the sound of shifting into gear without using the clutch. It is a very embarassing sound from the car. It can be heard over the roar of the engine at 8000 rpm. If your gears feel notchy, this is normal and will not be improved by the fix.

I just got mine out of the shop this afternoon. I took it in for the seatbelt and grind. I took 2 weeks, seems the dealership had a hard time with parts to repair the grind. I called other dealerships to see if I was getting the run-around but it sounds legit. You may try to get the parts ordered first.:rolleyes
