Before I had the Stook I had a Miata. A couple of years ago I had finally gotten my dream car from High School, it was an '87 Conquest Tsi...29,000 original miles, not a door ding in sight, everything I'd hoped it'd be. I kept it for a year and sold it for the Miata. The point is, the car was too much work in my "head". It had it's quirks, and things that bugged me...and I let those things get the best of me, thinking I could just get another car and I wouldn't be so obsessive about every little thing...I was wrong. When I let that dream go, all the clouds disappeared, and the fact that I'd made a mistake was clear as day. I still enjoyed my Miata, but I was one of millions at that point, and no longer distinctive in any way. What I wouldn't give to have that car back. In some way, if you are obsessive about this car, it may be the same way for you. Why do I drool every time I see a black IS300 when I have a Stook? The answer for me is that I, somewhat like yourself, see another car as "easier" to own, and "new" as well...the promise is tempting, but hollow. Try to swap someone cars for a week and see if you feel the same way. If you do, bye bye Stookie, if I'm right you just say to yourself over and over "what the hell was I smokin'?"

I'll second (or third) the car-swap suggestion. I haven't had my S2K long but there are times when it isn't ideal. But as soon as I get in my brother's Grand Prix, I realize that I wouldn't trade the S2K for anything right now. I enjoy hearing the engine and exhaust, whipping around corners at fairly high speeds, etc. The S2K is a love/hate relation - drive someone else's car (similar to what you'd get) and see how much you love the S2K and how much you love the other (i.e. hate the S2K).

Ok, I have to admit I am lucky, I just got rid of a Porsche for my S2K. I also have an Expedition to tote the kids and so the husband can pull his '87 Grand National behind it on the trailer. He has a Lexus to drive for work. So, we are lucky, we have all the bases covered. Whatever you do, stop the voices!!!!

If you're not satisfied with the S2, then you should find something else that suits your wants and needs better.
