1 differential replaced here..and right now my car is at Holler Honda getting the tranny rebuilt at my expense because they said it was damaged due to abuse.car has 38k on it now..when i had complained thousands of miles(32k) before about the grinding.. I do have an extended warranty which i called first but Fedility said it was Honda that should be fixing this because they saw my previous visit at 32k..(during honda warranty) with the same problem and nothing was done by Honda. Honda changed the clutch but not the synchros...oh well..4000 dollars later..my mother would like to see me get something more practical.. I've been looking at IS300 5spds.

I think what has so many people upset about the "reliability" of the car is actually due to the poor service from so many of our dealers. For instance, two major problems that the dealer fixes fast and free might seem minor to the owner; but little clicks and rattles that the dealer swears isn't really there, or refuses to fix because of "abuse", can be major headaches.

I think the perhaps the way to think about it is this: the car is admirably trouble-free, especially for a high-performance sports car... BUT, the emotional pain and agony of getting good mechanical service from AHM makes the car more difficult to own than is reasonable for whatever problems do arise.

I voted 2nd category, largely because my particular service manager has been extremely understanding and helpful.

I've had no problems whatsoever in 18 months and 12,000 miles of ownership.
I had the driver's side window fix performed...successfully...but I didn't even count that as a problem in the first place.
While it's admittedly a tiny sample, I'd like to think this poll validates Consumer Reports' glowing picture of S2K reliability.

Valve replacement at 6,700 miles. . . HID headlight replacement. . .

Currently 16,000 miles (3.1 years of ownership), no additional problems.

One of the first 2000 S2000's, hit 22k miles yesterday, not one single problem other than the fat grin on my face when I drive it.

30k on mine, the last 5 with the blower.

I got it at 10k miles.

1. Took it in for the clutch recall at 11k miles.

2. Did the diff fluid at 15k. It was "very dirty." Also had the roof latch recall done.

3. Tires at 15k. (Rears only).

4. Installed blower at 25k miles. Checked all fluids, everything looking good. New front tires shortly after.

5. Popped out of 4th a few times around 28k miles. Had it fixed under warranty. Blower belt re tensioned, and blot replaced (it backed out).

6. New rears this week. 30kmiles.

On the whole, pretty good. It does need attention, but Ive never really had a problem, per se, despite the higher output. Everything else is stock and so far, does not really NEED upgrading.

12 months, 2 days, 5440 miles, no problems.

I just don't have enough time to fully enjoy my S2000.
