Police Harrassment
Ignorance is bliss and you know what opinions have in common with belly buttons.
If you can't be bothered to follow academic accounts of issues of police misconduct and harassment, are too lazy to look up human rights reports on the subject, don't want to bother to look into the congressional testimony on the matter, the fact that New Jersey has been under federal supervision for racial profiling as an example, then the least you can do is a simple google search on the topics of police harassment, misconduct, and racial profiling.
This few bad apples BS argument is sinking under the massive and increasing weight of evidence that what is happening is part of the culture of policing. The proliferation of small video recording devices, in phones in particular, and the ability to broadcast on youtube Etc. will exponentially increase these powerful examples in the future. But there is no question that the police misconduct is systematic and widespread if you bother to look at journalism, human rights reports, academic treatments, congressional reports, Etc.

WOW ....5.5 years later and its alive again...
oh well il add my tidbit.
I now work in UT i was military and ended up here after my time ended so i got a decent job and stayed.
For the past 3 years ive been driving my "heavly moded" eclipse 00GT
and i have a very close to stock looking muffler and the sound is a tad bit deeper and louder. I say this cause my dad had an 00 for 4 years and i drove it quite alot when i was still at home. Now u can hear the engine over exhaust at 3k revs stock and 4ks revs on mine. I considered it very non-ricey none of that popping crap that is all over the place. Now i found out its illegal to have "altered" exhaust in Utah, but with the closeness to stock and all the ricers and very loud trucks here i thought i would be safe. Turns out ive got 4 altered exhaust and 1 disturbing the peace tickets in 3 years (1year being spent in iraq, 7k miles put on it).
So i havent heard of anyone else i know in this area even hearing about these kind of tickets. I just hope they lay off myCR since it sounds more sporty than stock s2ks.
I very much respect cops and what they do but this seems like im getting picked on.
1 speeding ticket in my life and that was 6 years ago in Texas.

Today as i got off from work i passed two cops in my mugen si was bumping my muzik loud my car is all stock of course they were looking at me i didn't pay no attention to them what their going to give me a ticket for bumping a stock radio i hate pigs ive had good luck so far thank god i use to get in lots of trouble with my old 95 prelude Red might i add i stay i away from red cars now some cops are cool i get the thumbs up every now and then but yeah i hate cops period
I think its funny when my friends say they get harrassed. I owned a bright red 99 Honda civic that was slammed with rims, carbon hood and a "HUGE" front mount intercooler and I have only been pulled over for speeding once and that was my own fault. But the first time that car was ever profiled was when I let a friend drive it with me in it and we pulled out of my neighborhood and 100 feet later a cop shined his light on us. It has alot to do with the person driving and how aggressive you drive. I drive fast but I don't have that "look at me" driving.
yea i have a "loud looking" exhaust (an n1 canister exhaust) and i got a exhaust summons for it the only time i wasn't running my silencer. (my fault i guess) with the silencer on i got pulled over only once but since i had a spotless record i was let off with a verbal warning.
i have tints, exhaust, wheels, and lowered car that "looks" fast altho it's stock and slow as hell. i drive slow most of the time and so far 0 tickets. i love driving my mom's 98 stock green corolla though, not a single worry about rough roads, cops, or driving carefully everywhere.
lastly, people saying "oh i never got pulled over at all and i drive ____" (including me) just depend on how lucky you are. a guy driving a crappy ford taurus could have been pulled over because a cop happened to see him running a light or something, but if a cop NEVER sees your nfr/rio s2k with glass shattering loud exhaust of course you won't get pulled over. i've been pretty lucky though with my tint. passed by cops multiple times and never got puleld over but my friend in a white accord (same %) got pulled over twice already.
