Polishing the IM is no easy task, but it seems like you're making great progress so far.

maybe one for the ole dremel might help. Dremels are such crap, barely used mine and it vibrates like an SOB.
You should be able to get a Dremel flex shaft at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. I polished some motorcycle parts and found that my Dremel was a pita to use since the bits are so small and it took forever, that's why I went with smaller bits for my 1/4" die grinder. Your mani looks good btw.

I was doing mine, but decided to have it media blasted and then powder coated. I worked out well and seems to be much eiasier to clean. Good Luck as it is a real PITA.

I,m doing the same. After researching this process, and realizing that I would be buying alot of tools + having it clear powder coated to keep it shiney, I decided to have it color powder coated along withthe valve cover and spark plug cover.

You should plan on clear coating that polish job or having it clear powder coated. don't know if it would be helpful to you, but I looked at a polishing wheel in my local Sears store. $99.00. It would make the job of polishing that intake sooooo much easier! It's the route I would take, since you have most of the rough stuff cleaned off at this point. Great job so far!

Well thanks for the props haha.

I called a guy today locally and he was a complete douche, wanted $600 to polish it, I said I've already done most of the sanding, he basically says"you probably have done more harm than good and I'll have to do more work, your trying to haggle me down to a lower price" then goes on bragging he's the best in town and I cant take it anywhere else. I took insult to that honeslty. I said I've been working on cars for 11 years and I know how its done, I just dont really want to dump 50 hours into it and buy $300 worth of tools and sand rolls. I caught ear of another shop locally and this guy's been doing it for 30 years, he's much smaller scale and much more polite lol.

I may work on it some more when I get time and more material, every time I need something I have to order it, kinda sux. Then I'll let the nice guy do the finishing touches.

I actually have the flex shaft tucked into the box that was under my toolbox haha. Gonna give her a shot when I get time.

Hack away.

That's almost pretty enough to make me reconsider all the time I am saving sending mine to a powder coater. It does look way cool..
