I used a radar detector in all my Mustangs, and only recieved one ticket when a cop was using radar, but since i bought my S2000 I haven't put in a radar detector. I havent put one in because the only place to plug in a radar detector is not in a very good place. Plus I am too lazy to wire one into the car. That said, I have been doing just fine without a detector. You just need to know where to drive fast and where not to.

I use a Passport 8500 and have not been stoppec yet. My real concern is that the 8500 is no match for instant on laser radars.

I almost got nabbed on a back road a few weeks ago doing double the posted. Fortunately the cop was facing the wrong way and I was able to make a turn as soon as I was over the next bump in the road. Taught me a lesson. Instant on is dangerous stuff.

I had one in my old car but I am debating putting it in the s2k i just bought. in maryland the cops seems to use laser exclusivly and a detector just tells you that it is time to pull over.

I've got an old Passport 8500. No tickets yet while using it although I've gotten a few warnings for 5 to 10 over.

I have used Escort products since 1994.
1) Passport 2600
2) Passport 5000
3) Passport 4800
4) Escort 8500

I'm still using the 8500 now. I've had it since 2001. I'll be ordering a new Valentine One here shortly. I could have bought a Valentine years ago and just had it updated instead of buying all those detectors. Nothing can compare to a Valentine One!

I don't use one, cuz I don't have one.

1. No money to get a Valentine.

2. No money to get a Valentine.

3. No money to get a Valentine.

4. I figured if the cop shot your car first, then you are screwed anyway -- and that's when most people get tickets, when they drive in the front of the crowd, or no?
