Got a new radar detector. Paid for itself already. Detector lit up on shields in OKC. I was just about to float a stop sign pulling on to shields when my detector pegged out. I could not see the cop anywhere. Came to a full stop. Pulled out on shields and the next thing I know an OKC cop is right behind me pegging out my detector with x band radar. I travel down shields into Moore and my detector pegs out again with Ka band radar. I can't see the cop anywhere. I was going about ten mph over the limit. I slow down. Travel about 20 seconds further down the road and a Moore motorcycle cop is hiding behind a telephone pole, turning his radar on and off scanning traffic. Whew! Two tickets avoided. Anyone know what band of radar to look out for on the highway that the OK Highway Patrol use?

 

Usually K or Ka bands. My Bel rarely picks up X band anymore unless there's a bank or grocery store with automatic doors nearby... either that or my ears have just tuned out the X band.

 

what kind of detector did you get? im looking to get one too.

 

I swear by V1 after riding in a friend's car with one. Too bad they're $400!
