Muz,

I'm OK with that...we're all here to share ideas, make our cars more enjoyable, and maybe make a buck or two in the process. I like to think my version offers enough difference in terms of capabilities and functionality to bring in enough clients. If the buyer is more interested in what others are offering, so be it...that's business and I completely understand it.

Of course, I would be upset if someone totally ripped my idea off and just made copies, but I don't see that as the case here. To be honest, LEDs have appeared in windscreens for well over a year now, but I have the comfort of knowing that I personally thought of doing it long before I ever saw someone post here about it. After a huge push by a local member or two, I finally decided to move on it. In doing so, I wanted something bigger, badder, and better than what was currently available, and I think I've achieved that. cox has a more simplistic (and most likely less expensive) version with only red and white LEDs...you'll pay a higher price for mine, but you'll also get more functionality...this is true of any business as time wears on.

The perfect example is the dash upgrade offered by me and DJ Qube...I'm not trying to run him out of town, on the contrary. I feel that his white LED upgrade is perfect for someone wishing to increase the brightness of their dash without breaking the bank. My mod, on the other hand, costs quite a bit more, but the functionality goes WAY beyond increased visibility. As you have found, there will always be someone willing to fill a niche market...my niche tends towards the more expensive range with high functionality.

...And MacGyver, we all thank you for your niche - high functionality is greatly appreciated for those of us in the "gadget-freak" category! Now - if only I could convince my wife that the cool factor is worth the extra cash....

I forgot to post about this one...

The last remaining issue was the lack of clarity with the red LEDs due to the blue and green ones being to bright, even at the minimum setting. Well, it was a simple fix and the circuit has been updated, so no fears

Colors are clear and bright, and the mixes are sweeeeet

Well, I am trying to figure out the logistics of this too.

I have an OEM shortie that is NOT etched in any way. I would like a taller (Mabey the 7/8) windscreen, etched and lighted.

I could:
Buy a Windscreen from Rick, pay to have it shipped to me
Pay to ship the windscreen and base together to Mac
Have it all shipped back

OR
Buy a Windscreen have it shipped directly to Mac
Pay to ship just my base to Mac
Have it all shipped back

However, if Mac offered Windscreens and bases for sale, then I could just order it all from him and be done.

I doubt Mac is interested in keeping stock on Windscreens or bases so I think I will end up in the Product Logistics realm of keeping track of all the shipping.

I just wanted to toss it out there in case someone has a better way to hanclle the logistics or if Mac had already worked something out (like bulk shipments of new Windscreens from Rick's to reduce shipping costs or a supplier for cheap stock bases, ect.)
