porsche c4s or keep my s and a second car??
im planning on getting a 911 c4s in about 6 months but im not sure if i should just keep my s and get a second car, like the m3 or a used 911 c2. in the long run i would be spending more money on insurance and all. all your opinions would help greatly. thanks in advance.
If you can afford a new c4s go for it....It's totally up to you. Do you want one fast horse, or a few fast horses in the stable. Is this going to be your only car? This just isn't enough information.
i say keep the S and get a second car...
something more practical than an S - and we all know a C4S is as close to a 911 GT3 as the 996 gets. its not very everyday-friendly
an E46 M3 (6M/T) or the Carrera 2 would be a nice car to complement the S2000.
but that all goes out the window if you already have a daily driver / beater car.

I would only go for it if it was the C4S Cab!!
They are very hot and if you can afford the car, have fun with it. That being said, I can afford the GT2, but prefer to drive a few different convertibles instead of one bad ass ride.
Just my $0.02!

Do you live in Manhattan? Do you actually drive daily, or use cabs/subway/trains daily and car for fun? If the former, then I'd do as alex says, but if it's the latter then get the carerra 4.
How tall are you?
If you are even the slightest bit "tight" in the S2000 the Carerra will be a nightmare. My friend's father has a Carerra 4, not the S, and he recently bought an S600 Mercedes. We took them both out the other night and it was the first time for me in a Porsche and a V12. I rode in the Porsche on the way back from the Mercedes dealership and damn the Carerra was tight....in both senses of the word. Engine, acceleration, grip, and takeoff were wonderful, it's a Porsche of course, but I couldn't stay in it for more than 30 minutes or so. Even with the seat all the way back my knees were jammed up against the dash.
I'm sure the driver's seat would have felt much better.
