Why would Europe still get AP1s? I thought that was the chassis code, which I'd assume they would get the upgraded chassis. They just get the smaller displacement engine in the new chassis.

So, it should be an AP2 with an F20C, right? Can somebody check their VIN and see what it says?

A european member with a 2004+, belgian iirc, posted a picture of his chassis code and it said AP1...

Currently produced Belgium S2000s have the 2.0 liter engine.

I always heard that the Porsche beat the S2000 by a little on HP per liter, but seeing these numbers makes me disagree.

Last I checked, the AP1 S2Ks put out 120 hp/liter... at least we know who owns the best tuned engine in the world Torquewise the GT3 beats the s2k per liter... but, it makes no mention of that...
In the end, I'd be more than willing to trade my 120hp/liter for the GT3s measley 115.

In all honesty, I'd trade in my "superior" 120hp/L for the puny 72hp/L in the new Z06.

Car magazines don't even fact check, and you're expecting a car web site to do better?
