Straight cut gears.

What are the inherent advantages with this setup?

It is a much stronger gear set for the car but that is only the beginning. The gears on most dog sets are straight cut where as the Factory gears have small teeth cut at an angle here is a picture of a stock shaft from the trans and what i am currently running in my car.

Now the dog set will actually have straight teeth and they dont use syncros like your normal tansmission.

You remove the trunk lid;and it's a box, made of 1" X 1" C.F.weave,that you can fit in the trunk,so you can carry your dog in it,topless.
exactly what i thought

Another silly question.
So with no syncros, is it more like a motorcycle transmission?

With No syncros you actually dont have to use the clutch to shift. The main benefit for this style transmission is quicker shifts. So instead of having to let off the gas to push in the clutch so that you can shift you just let off the gas a little bit and through it into gear a keep going. but on down shifting unless your really good at rev matching id still use the clutch.

You still need to use the clutch and it's NOT for a street car. The whinning noise would be unbearable day to day.

agree with Kane. Turning your beautiful S2k tranny into a crash box is certainly not for everyone...
