Thumbs up Potential Owner Seeking Advice

I'm a serious potential buyer of an 05 S2000. In-fact I've done everything (read the magazine articles of the years, the test drives, a little forum searching and I've been to the bank), the only thing left to do is get Mrs Kreuznach to buy off.

While I work on her, I was wondering, if you could offer one piece of advice, one thing for a S2K buyer to be aware of, what would that be? Something every potential S2000 buyer should know?

Thanks in advance.

The stereo kinda blows.

But the rest of the car more than makes up for it. I used to always have music blasting in my old car. Lately been finding myself listening to the engine more than cd's.

Is this a going to be a toy or a daily driver?

Read the owner's manual ASAP. It will help you avoid some of the pitfalls that many have had to endure.
HINT: checking oil, break-in procedure.

Also, read all the FAQ's at the top of all the forums, especially Under the Hood, Technical, S2000 Talk. These will be a real eye opener.

Thanks for the quick replies and the advice.

AZDelt, it will be a daily driver. Wish I had the dough for a third car, but am not that fortunate. I'm stepping out of an RX8. It's a great car, but one fatal flaw .... it's a fixed roof. Love the rotary. Though not very efficient to run, it is effecient in that it makes serious HP out of 1.3 ltrs. I simply underestimated my love of open air driving and must get back to it. I can't go back to a Miata now that I've experienced life above 7000 rpm and 100 more HP. The S2000 seems like a great fit .... even if it's a snug fit

Thanks again.

It's actually better you can't afford the third car. Then you'd have to find excuses to drive your S, instead you "have no choice" but to drive it.

I've had mine 3 weeks today, its a daily driver, and even though my commute to work is less than 8 miles each way, I'm averaging about 90 miles a day.

And what XViper said is completely true, the book is your friend. So is this site.

Good luck with convincing the Missus.

the one (and probably only) thing about the car that i don't like is the fact that i'm always worrying about it -- even if just a small worry in the back of my mind -- if it's not parked in a secure garage. i'm a new owner though so maybe i'll get over it eventually.
