Has anyone tried the RE950s on a S2K? I was thinking about trying them. My S2K is currently my only car. So I drive it alot. Would like something a little cheaper than the S-02 for daily drives.
I did a search on the RE950s and only found 2 articles. Both from the road test at the speed way.
Thanks
Kev

You are actually thinking of putting H-rated tires on a S2000!?! Well search the old threads because that's been done before. Initially the person who make that mistake thought it was a good choice -- then he saw the light! Those high milage (hard rubber compound) tires are make for Civics, etc. and not a high perfomance car like the S2000. If you push your car much at all they could easily end up causing you to lose control.
There are plenty of other tires alternatives (Dunlop SP8000s, Yoko A520s, Bridgestone RE71s, etc.) that are a lot cheaper than the OEM S-02s. You really should get a tire with a nice soft compound which means the tires treadwear rating will be 200 or less.

Well the reason I even thought about them was from the following thread discussion http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=9352
-- I had a lot of fun flogging the cars around on a wet
-- autocross course and was impressed by the traction of
-- the RE950s. Most of us identified the 50% shaved and
-- heat cycled RE950 as the best performing tire, followed
-- by unworn 950s and then some worn Michelins.
I also found an article on TireRack( which I cant find now) talking about them. So I wondered if anyone had actually put them on a S2K. I dont wont poor performance. But if I can get good performance for half the price then I will think about it.
