Default powerful enough

with 500 hp being as common as it is (and as unusable in the real world as a nuclear bomb) the s2000 seems to be severely lacking. many describe this car as quick, but not fast. but to me, it can be scary fast, especially when driven well.

is the s2000 fast enough for your tastes or are you chopping at the bit to get something faster? if stock is not fast enough, is there an iteration that is (ie gears, SC etc) and if that's not fast enough, what do you think would be fast enough for you?

You will get used to almost everything powerwise. Look at the Enzo and the forthcoming FXX version also because owners found it to be not quick enough!? In the beginning the 150HP from my GTI were overwhelming, after some months I thought there was something wrong with the engine, but I got used to the 'power'

The S is quick enough and can indeed be scary fast sometimes. But sometimes, I already wish it had a few more horses and torque. I drove the whole weekend with a Volvo XC70 Cross Country 4x4 2.5T auto and that torquey thing is N.I.C.E.

But I got used to the power of a 997 Carrera 4S and a M3 quite quick too and I was wishing for some more horses in those cars too very quick I think I will need a Veyron

The S is quick, but not fast enough, even with gears, and a few other bits and pieces.
Looking forward to a S/C,in a near futur.
Then,we shall see.!!!

Amai!
Who needs a 1001 horses....
Next thing would be a Jet engine?

IMO the S2000 is fast & quick enough.
In a straight line one may be caught : who cares?
It's about taking corners.

it's pokey below 4k.

keep the S running above 6k and it's plenty fast for me.

I have a WRX and an S2000 in my garage. The WRX is mildly tuned, and is pretty fast. I lovethe gut punch feeling when full boost kicks in!

My s2000 is stock at the moment, but I am so itching to put parts on it!!! I am patiently awaiting 06' products to be released!!

In the end, I want the best of both worlds. A nice turbo car, and a nice NA car!

It's fast enough to get me into trouble, and that's fast enough for me.

It'll be a while 'til I can afford a car that's fast enough to get me OUT of trouble.

But then again I'm one of those strange people who doesn't care about bragging rights or all out speed. Heck, I could care less if I'm the fastest guy on the road. All I know is I'm having more fun in my car than I would be having in almost anything else out there, and I'll take that over 500 HP anyday.

the s2000 is fast for what it is stock

but i think about 500-600hp to the wheels is what i would ultimatley want.

my friends evo mr has about 450awhp with his GT-35AR .70 set up. and that car is fast i would like to get that same feeling

I think for most of us when you first get "the itch" you just want to be the fastest. I learned a long time ago that there will always be someone faster than you. Now my choice of cars revolves around what puts the biggest grin on my face. For me, that is the S2000. The car is just amazingly fun to drive.
