Thumbs down PRM intake throttle response blows!

I just intalled the PRM intake for my 2003 S2K today and is it just me or do any other PRM owners out there notice the response between 0 and about 5000RPM REALLY blows?

With my stock airbox my car would leap forward with more ease in 1st gear, with the PRM if I mash the throttle it seems like it takes forever to reach 4000RPMs...

Any other PRM owners care to chime in about the throttle response of this intake?

It was about 20 degrees C today and tonight it was even colder so it's not the heat. (I'm in Canada...)

Would a K&N FIPK have better throttle response?

thanks....

I searched a lot on S2KI and most owners seemed to love the intake and love the noise after 6000RPMs...Everyone said it was the best sounding intake and having owned an AEM on my previous S2000 I wanted to give it a shot.

But what I wasn't expecting was worse throttle response (or very similar) than when I took the airbox lid off.

Plus the intake shakes a lot when the engine is running, I guess that's not the best thing for not losing horsepower?

has it been hot around Montreal lately Jacques??
it sounds like the heat is causing the lag. that's usually what happens with aftermarket short-ram intakes. you should feel a world of difference in the night time or when it gets cooler

No as I said it wasn't really hot today and I took my car for a drive tonight and it was pretty cool outside.

Maybe if there was a way to not make the intake pipe move so much when the engine is warmer the flow of air to the throttle body would be better and give me better power before 6000RPMs?

even if it's moving around, i don't think that would affect the airflow into the throttle body cause the diameter of the piping isn't changing..

maybe you need to clean the filter.

It's a brand new filter. I received the intake today.

maybe you need to give your ECU time to adjust

From the looks of the PRM, it doesn't even look like it's that great of an intake. Just get an AEM and toss that in the recycling bin where it can be put to a better use. Like a soda can.
