I'm going to look at one today. This is the first S2K I'll be looking at, and don't know much about them. Are there any specific areas I should look at that these cars are known for having problems with? I'm fairly mechanically inclined and car savvy, but have never so much as sat in an S2K. I looked for a sticky about this subject but didn't find one. If I missed it my apologies. Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.

 

holes or wear spots in the soft top
deterioration in the rear plastic window
bald rear tires (negotiation point for purchase)

(just a few off the top of my head)

 

Run a compression test before you buy, i almost purchased one until i ran a compression test on it !!! Then i bought this one cause it ran 240 PSI every cylinder, = perfect.

 

I had a MY2001 for 5 years...I wasn't crazy about the plastic window but
in Arizona it wouldn't matter much.The control button for radio sound didn't
work all the time but otherwise 0 problems...Great car
I would take that suggestion about the rear tires...I'm a pretty conservative driver
and my S02s never lasted more than 12 k.
Honda cars are usually bullet proof if the car is cared for.I had a GSR for 5 years
and ran it to redline everyday for 120 k miles and it's still living.
