Problem with my JIC

Question Problem with my JIC

I purchased a used jic exhaust recently and have had it on my car for about a week.. The muffler itself is a slip on to the rest of the exhaust... and today while i went for a short drive i noticed a different noise from my exhaust.. i pulled over and looked and my cannister wasn't connected to the piping anymore. I slipped it back on and drove and it was ok again.. Is this normal for a slip on cannister to come off like that?

There are springs that hold it in place. If you are missing those you should use some safety wiring through the locations the springs are supposed to go.

It is not normal.

It's not normal, but it's also not out of the realm of possibility. I say just crawl under there and either weld it into place if you're really paranoid, or just make sure the hardware is securely fastened. I'm sure it'll be just fine.
