I pay $83/month thru USAA. The S2000 is listed as the primary & only vehicle. If I was to buy a daily driver-I would guess that the rate would go down.

USAA's customer service & response is top-notch. Whenever I call (no matter day or time) I always get an English person on the phone, not some call center in India. That, in itself, is worth any premium I might pay over another insurance company.

*That monthly rate does not include the dividend check I get from USAA each year-it has run anywhere from $100 to $350 or so. You can either have that money deposited into your checking/savings account or applied to your current insurance premium.

USAA FTW.

The call center, I believe, is in the great state of Texas. And they also hire lots of military spouses for jobs.

Geico does have some funny ass commercials. I like the one when the caveman and his girl are on the beach and the plane flies over with the "So easy a caveman can do it." banner.

That's awesome... I only wish I could qualify for USAA. They consistantly score at the top or very close to the top on NPS scores based on their unbelievable customer service reputation as well as nearly untouchable rates.

FWIW, when people make comments like "Man..this is bs... my rate went up 60% from last year for no reason so I had to find a new company", etc... I'm quick to call . Keep in mind, insurance is regulated by your state. No state will allow any renewal to spike some insane amount unless something changed on your policy that was initiated by the policy holder or driver on policy (speeding ticket(s), accident, reckless driving, etc..)

Just my $.02..

so i have a similar story. last year i had an 06 ex v6 accord, and progressive found out that i had 3 moving violations on my record and boosted my insurance from $100 a month to $235!!!!!!! ZOOOMMMG! i immediately put my car up for sale and sold it a couple weeks later. i was very sad. so i have been driving around a 92 eg for the past year or so until recently. i was bored one day at work and just so happened to be browsing around on CL and saw an S2K for a phenomenal price. this just so happened to be on the same day that my insurance on my eg was up for renewal, so out of curiosity, i had the lady from progressive run me a quote for that car and the insurance was to my surprise very reasonable. AND the 3 moving violations are still on my record. whoda thunk it? anyway, my search for an s2k began immediately. i found the one i wanted a week later, and have been in love ever since. that has been about 3 weeks now.
happily ever after.........

Don't be a retard.

It's not that they saved, it's the sheer quantity that they saved.

That's like saying "why do people say it's hot when it's hot outside?"

Because it's ****ing hot!

USAA is awesome. I pay 90 a month for full coverage w/ some extras. They give you credit for things like keeping the car parked on base (where it isn't gonna get stolen) and things like that. Filed a claim with them this spring and they were great. Plus, all the customer service speaks perfect English and is very polite.
