i have a friend who had a 2005 AP2 s2k (i have a 2006 AP2 s2k) took my car for a drive and stared to rip on it a little bit, after the ride he pointed out that his VTEC was a lot more aggressive than mine was, and he didn't have chip, i was just wondering what could be the problem... oil levels are fine and car runs great except for VETC

 

the less you feel vtec the smoother the power band, the better the power transition

 

true i never thought of that, but i want it to hit hard when i hit vtec

Please, I've seen some do backflips because vtec hits so hard.

 

Mine kicks in so hard it hurts.

 

What is VETC?
The harder it kicks in the less power you are making before vtec most likely.
Honda set it at 6k which is too high. They put it there so you can FEEL vtec "Hit"
Lowering it to like 5500 or so smooths it out with some tuning. You won't feel it hit as hard but you should be making more power.
