They lost power on the dyno. They should of put the "right size" custom cat/tp. I'm sure that's holding back some. Sometimes I don't understand if they going for looks for full track. If they wanted to go full track, a single 3 inch would of been ideal right with a 3in test pipe? Duals are only for looks imo. I thought most of us agree a single will net more power then a dual.

 

Also, in a mighty car mod episode, moogs s2000 did a before and after on that same aem v2 intake they used and gained on the dyno. So when speed academy did their dyno results, they lost power after the intake and exhaust which makes me believe that the exhaust robbed some power especially the cat

 

U sure they used an aem v2? I remember that video and every intake they tried I didn't know the brands

 

Yes I had to rewatch the mcm episode on that aem v2 intake. They definitely gain power from the v2. So the fact that speed academy lost power, it's probably due to the exhaust or cat. If speed academy is really running a track car, I'd go 3 in tp and full single cat back. Hope SA considers this. It breaks my heart to see bolt ons and lost of power on our cars.

 

I've talked to them regularly on there youtube channel. They won't use a tp due to the law. They say there car can get impounded if not cat is found

 

I'm guessing they are making a street car that they can drive to the track then.
