Default Pushing too hard.

Well Pushing it a bit to the limit I spun out in a parking lot and stalled. Anyone notice the difficulty in getting the S started again after a spin out?? Why is that? I assume the oil gets taken for a nice ride, but why would this prohibit starting?

The only asumption I can come up with is that when your car is stalled it is still in acessory mode, meaning that if you did not turn the key all the way off and back on again the fuel pump did not prime the lines which results in a delayed start because the fuel has to prime itself as the engine turns.

Most cars have a hard time starting after being spun. Some cars have a roll over mechanism that if it senses too many G's or G's the wrong way it cuts fuel/spark. My MR2 would die when spun on the track all the time...my eclipse did it too. Never spun the S2K cause I haven't hit up a track yet but I imagine it would do the same thing if you aren't quick to put in the clutch as you start coming around.

My friend rolled a Mustang GT and it was still running. It was a slow roll; he just turned off the car and got out.

My friend spun his Mustang GT on the freeway and, after coming to a stop against the gaurd rail (just knicked it, not hard), the car cut the fuel and wouldn't let him start it for a minute or two.

I've read on another forum where several people have spun their RSX's and had a hard time driving afterwards because the ECU defaults into a "limp mode". As I recall they were able to remedy this by resetting the ECU (usually accomplished by disconnecting the positive battery cable for a few minutes).

I've spun my car plenty of times, with no difficulty restarting it. AFAIK there is no "limp mode" in the S2000.

You may have starved the fuel pickup, and it took a moment to repressurize the fuel manifold.

Maybe you scared it and it didn't want to play anymore.
