hey guys , when you drop ap2 2.2l engine into ap1 chasis, will you still pass smog? and which injectors you use? ap1 or 2?
Back from the dead! I don't see why you wouldn't pass smog?

Shouldn't make any difference, the engine is just from a newer car, it won't change it passing smog. (FYI, we have none in FL. )

injectors are the same I believe.

You literally just plop the engine into the AP1 and hook it up.

So the AP2 tranny and rear end are the same ratios and gears?

I'm doubting this since that would mean the AP1 would be capable of a higher top speed at fuel cut in 6th gear.

The Ap2 tranny is a little stronger than the Ap1; the gear ratios are a tad different as well. Don't quote me on the gears though I can not recall correctly.

who said that?

The rear ends are all a 4.10 gear regardless of year.

The AP2 tranny is geared significantly differently than the AP1. 1-4 are shorter and 5-6 are taller.

So there may be a real benefit to using the AP2 tranny on the F20C motor...hmmmm. I would like shorter low gears.

not worth the cost of a new tranny for slighly different ratios... unless you blew your tranny and are looking for a replacement.

I've never heard of anyone blowing a transmission on a street driven S2000 yet. I'm sure there are people who have though.
