"When the wire is cut/unplugged, you still have to have the ebrake up enough to engage the 'BRAKE' light on your dash (doenst even have to actually engage the brake). Then you can do it. It just disables the speed sensor and Ebrake sensor. "

This a great mod. I have done it. If you are at a light and you are forced to inch forward when the light turns green, you can still raise or lower you top. Consequnetly, you do not have some a-hole behind you honking his horn because you have not moved when you have a green light.
