Nice long story, but I must correct you.

We in the south are a mix of urbanization and rural. It is true that early morning the roads are pretty clear without much traffic, but during the day time its a mess especially as you hit rush hour near major cities.

When me and my brother went to Cali. for a convention the women was surprised we were Texan because we lacked the accent of a "Texan".

No We do not ride horses, and only the rural owners wear cowboy hats .

Haha, but yeah, we city folk are also greatly amused by rednecks. When you go to a pet store out in the country they will be like "Ya dem thar hamsters is makin' babies". It just depends on education. Rural populations are too low to have "Advanced Placement" programs, and here in the city we have like 5k students at my highschool (I am not sure though). Literacy and education just depend on the opportunities you have around you. (We think its unfair for colleges because we are based on rank in a school of thousands with multiple AP programs where as out in the country you can be in the top 10% easily because they might only have 500 students at a highschool and not as many challenges.)

It just depends where you are, and the scenery is often lovely out in rural areas.

And in the rain I do not know about the s2k because I have yet to see rain as a recent buyer, but driving on the highways in the heavy rain you turn your wipers on high and you can drive at 80 mph being able to see out your window every other second and watching out for headlights and tail lights .

I've lived in Los Angeles most of my life and let me tell you, you haven't been in rush hour traffic till you've been in LA traffic.

Congrats! Hey you are the guy that stopped by Irvine BMW 10 minutes before I did. So I ended up buying that one. Here was my intro https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=659432 You sure had quite an adventure!

Our cars are identical by the way and after your trip, we probably have the same mileage now! See you around Socal

First off Congrats on the car!!!

Your Southern experience i guess is a good thing, you`ll probably appreciate some of the things y`all have taken for granted in Cali... I have a lot of relatives and friends who live there.

Your experience might have been different(good/bad) if you stopped at bigger southern cities like Atlanta. Where the traffic is almost just as bad as Cali or every other major city.

The stares that you got wasn't because you are Asian, but i think its because of the s2000. I am asian too and i lived in the south for 8 years now and i get stared mostly because of the s2k and evo. lol

And to be honest with you i have never encountered any racism from Caucasians here. I feel that people in the South are really nice and genuine. Dont get me wrong there will always be good and bad, but generally there are respectful and have good morals.

BTW the price you paid for your s2k is a steal! I am sorry you had to go to the ordeal of your tire accident. Have fun with it and happy new year!
